The general activities of RILO are as follows:
Strategic analysis on trends, modus operandi, routes and significant cases of fraud.
Collecting, verifying, validating, and analysing customs seizure data.
Processing alerts and warning messages.
Information and intelligence exchange.
Facilitate mutual assistance and cooperation.
Provide technical or other assistance to NCPs and member states.
Training activities within the region.
Organisation, coordination and support of International Operations.
Design, coordinate and support regional intelligence-led operations.
Encourage member states to capture seizure information in CEN.
Produce regional tactical analysis reports to support law enforcement authorities.
Collect, evaluate and disseminate information on Customs offences through the CEN.
To respond to requests for analysis from member states.
Facilitate the exchange of case-related operational information in accordance with relevant legal provisions.
